Artist's Comments

This is one of the pictures I took on a trip to New Orleans in November 2006. I was staying at Camp Hope which is a Habitat for Humanity/AmeriCorps project for rebuilding low income housing in the New Orleans area. To me, this represents all of the people who are working together for a common purpose.

I remember this... but I never thought to take pictures. It was always very striking to me. Except the ones outside my room were all black standard issue Americorps boots but that's really just a small detail. I think we were at the same Camp. This is just so amazing to me- thank you.
